Frameless Box Construction

Frameless cabinet box construction, often referred to as “European-style,” eliminates the traditional face frame found on front edges of cabinets. Instead, the doors and drawers attach directly to the cabinet box, creating a sleek, modern look with more efficient use of space.

Note:

Cabinets that need to sit on the floor, such as base cabinets and tall cabinets, they have the leg levelers mounted on the bottom.

Wall cabinets and tall cabinets have a full top panel instead of the front and back stretchers shown in these illustrations.

Our plywood is sourced locally, and (most typically) produced in Oregon.

1. High-Quality Standards

Oregon is known for producing high-quality hardwood plywood, particularly maple. Local mills adhere to strict production standards that emphasize strong, durable core materials and thick, high-grade veneers. Oregon plywood is prized for its consistency, smoothness, and superior finish, making it ideal for fine cabinetry, furniture, and other woodworking projects.

2. Sustainable Forestry Practices

Oregon’s forest management and environmental policies are among the most sustainable in the world. The state enforces stringent regulations to ensure sustainable harvesting, which helps to protect forest ecosystems and promote reforestation. When you buy Oregon-produced plywood, you’re often supporting FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) certified wood, which guarantees that the product comes from responsibly managed forests.

3. Lower Environmental Impact

Purchasing plywood produced locally in Oregon reduces the carbon footprint associated with transportation. Unlike Asian imports, which travel long distances and contribute to higher emissions, Oregon plywood is often closer to end-users in California, making it a more eco-friendly choice.

4. Compliance with Strict Emission Standards

Oregon-manufactured plywood complies with strict U.S. emissions standards, particularly regarding formaldehyde and VOCs (volatile organic compounds). This makes it a safer choice for indoor use, contributing to healthier air quality in homes and offices. Compliance with regulations like CARB (California Air Resources Board) ensures that Oregon plywood has lower formaldehyde emissions compared to some foreign-made alternatives.
